  • Touch of luxury

What are the costs?

Prices range from $15,000 to $35,000 for a residential elevator. The number of stops, total openings, floor to floor distances, cab interior finishes are all factors in determining the final price.

Will insurance pay for a home elevator?

Unfortunately no. But there are some agencies and non-profit groups that may be able to assist with funding.

Are there any tax benefits to installing a residential elevator or lift?

If the purchaser can obtain a doctor's letter stating that the lift is a medical necessity or required for other medical reasons you may have the ability to write off a portion of the lift in the year purchased from your federal income tax. Please consult with your tax accountant/attorney on this matter.

Wheelchair Lifts:

What types of wheelchair lifts are there?

Inclined, Vertical and Portable wheelchair lifts come in many different sizes and shapes. See our products page to learn more about the many options available.

Should I install an Elevator or a Wheelchair Lift?

Both have very distinct advantages but perhaps the greatest difference in the two is the amount of space required for each. Wheelchair lifts take up far less space and are usually less expensive than residential and commercial elevators.

How much does a Wheelchair Lift cost compared to a Commercial Elevator?

Big Difference! In a commercial building when taking into account the total cost to have a elevator hoistway built, a 4' - 0" pit, sump pump, oil seperator, hoist beam installed, overhead clearances of 12' - 0" needed, the cost to install a commercial elevator can run 2 - 4x greater in the end.

Do you carry portable wheelchair lifts?

Yes we have a full line of portable lifts.  If stairs are a barrier and a permanent wheelchair lift or elevator is financially unfeasible, than a portable lift could be the answer.  Please see our products page for various inclined and vertical portable solutions.

Am I required to install a handicap lift in my building?

Existing buildings require only what is readily achievable and can not cause a financial hardship on the building owner. If a new or altered building has fewer than 3 stories or is less than 3000 square feet per floor, it does not need to be equipped with an elevator. This exception does not apply to shopping malls or offices of heath care providers. The ground floor, however, must be accessible. If an elevator is installed it must meet the ADAAG requirements. Please consult with your local building code to verify accessibility requirements.
